I got this rc car the other day,And i cant get it to go with the control,I've managed to get it to move using my finger to push the servo forward to get the hwheels moving,I've got new batterys in the controll and a fully charged battery in the RC Car,I've put in the crystals in,Servos are all hooked up to the right channels on the reciver,And it just wont work Via the control,Could it just be the crystals because they are a old set i found from some old Tamyia RC Cars,Or would the reciver be buggered,How could i find out which is not working before i splash out and spend some money on somthing i might not even need,Maybe somenoe has a spare reciver they could send down to me and i could try and if its not that ill send it back?
Cheers Guys

Hi Nick. Ok the first thing to check is the frequency range of your controler, is it 26mhz,27mhz or 29mhz? Cross reference it with your reciever and crystals. Quite often guys have this prob and its because the receiver and transmiter are the same e.g 27mhz but the crystals are 29mhz or of some other frequency. ALL of your radio gear should be the same. What sort of radio do have? If its a Futaba set, the plugs that go into the receiver will have a tag on one side of it and this slips into the slot that has been cut into the receiver, its not very often that you can plug it in the wrong way with these tags but it can happen. Next check to make sure the anttena on the receiver has no breaks or exposed wire. have a real good look at your crystals, do they have any rust or dirt on them? The frequency range of your radio should be written on the control some where and it will be written on top of your receiver. Try all of that and see if it helps, if you have no joy let me know what your radio gear is (brand, model) and i will be abel to hopfully help you out. I will need to know the model name of the receiver too e.g Futaba 112JE so i can tell you if i have any spare parts for it. Hope ive helped you out a little bit Nick. bevan1nz

Well,I think ive worked out why,I really didnt put much thought into thinking about the diff frequency ranges,The controller and receiver will work together,I just was trying to use 26.995mhz cyrstals and i need 27mhz,Would you happen to have any 27mhz cyrstals you could give/sell or maybe just trade for my two 26.995mhz ones if they are of any use to you
Cheers Nick
